Nirmal Rishi is an Indian actress born on 27th August 1943, She came to Ludhiyana in 1969 at an age of 26. She later on joined  Khalsa college for women as a physical education lecturer. During these time, Rishi got change to meet veteran theathre artists Harpal Tiwana and Nina Tiwana. After which she started participating on theatrical plays with them, She got an opportunity to play one of famous role of ‘Gulaabo Massi’ in the movie ‘Laung Da Lishkara’. Not only the film went one the biggest hit of career. But here character got a huge response and appreciation from the audience. After that she never look back.

This time, Nirmal continued her Job and later become the head of physical education department in Ludhiana. After 34 years of her service there , she retired in 2003.

All the while, Rishi remained devoted to her passion for performing arts. She keep of associated with this theater group ‘Punjab Kala manch’, Which was established by veteran Harpal Tiwana and remained associated with them for 40 year.
